Season 7 American Idol winner, David Cook is going on tour and back to school! He announced that his U.S. tour will hit colleges around the nation beginning with Florida State University on February 13.
For the most part, the concerts will take place at colleges, ending the tour at the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma. David Cook has thrown a few Casino’s in there as well and will play at Seneca Niagara Casino in New York State and Ameristar Casino in Kansas City, Missouri.
The American Idol winner’s whoseself-titled debut album released in November hit the number 3 spot of the Billboard charts, said that he wants to get back to his roots and promote the tradition of college tours. “There’s something inherently nostalgic about playing college shows. So many amazing acts used to do it, so it’s nice to be able to bring that ideal back, in some small way,” David Cook said.
Theinspiration for the college tour came to David Cookafter he saw the Irish rock band U2 perform at the Superbowl in 2002. David Cook said about the performance, “It was just very poignant, not overdone, but definitely powerful.”
