The cast for the eighth season of Dancing With The Stars has been revealed. While some of the cast members were as rumored, many of the names come as a surprise. In a Dancing With The Stars first, there will be three real life couples involved in Dancing With The Stars 8, although it appears as if only one of the couples will actually be dancing together. Also new for this season, the bottom two couples will take part in a “dance off” to determine who is eliminated during the first weeks of competition.
Among the thirteen stars competing on Dancing With The Stars 8 are the youngest participant yet, another NFL legend, several music artists, and a computer icon. One real life couple will be dancing together as rising country star Chuck Wicks will dance with his girlfriend and professional dancer Julianne Hough. The married celebrity couple of Ty Murray and Jewel will also be participating in the show, but they apparently are not dancing together. In addition, professional dancers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff are engaged, and both will be competing in the show with their celebrity dance partners.
The thirteen stars taking part in Dancing With The Stars 8 are singer Belinda Carlisle, comedian and actor David Alan Grier, singer/songwriter Jewel, Olympic athlete Shawn Johnson, singer and actress Lil’ Kim, actor Gilles Marini, rodeo cowboy Ty Murray, comedian and actor Steve-O, entertainment anchor Nancy O’Dell, actress Denise Richards, NFL legend Lawrence Taylor, country singer Chuck Wicks, and computer icon Steve Wozniak.
Dancing With The Stars 8 premieres with a two-hour episode on Monday, March 9 from 8 PM to 10 PM on ABC. The first Dancing With The Stars results show airs on Tuesday, March 17 from 9 PM to 10 PM on ABC. The Dancing With The Stars season finale will air on Tuesday, May 19 from 9 PM to 11 PM ET.
