Last night, American Idol alumni, Jennifer Hudson stepped out on the stage for the fourth time since the death of her family members back in October and fellow American Idol alumni Carrie Underwood was there topraise her for her performance.
After receivingone of the Grammy Awards for Best Female Country Vocal,Carrie Underwoodspoke to reporters saying, “I think it was very healing. She’s handled herself so wonderfully with all the media attention on her family and her personal stuff that she’s dealing with, but I think she’s handled herself with grace.”
Jennifer Hudson’s first public performance took place when she sang the national anthem at the Superbowl on February 1. Besides singing at the Grammy Awards, she also sang on Friday night at the Grammys MusiCares event honoring Neil Diamond and the Clive Davis pre-Grammy party on Saturday.
Carrie Underwood said that she was thrilled to be able to see Jennifer Hudson sing in front of an audience once again and commented, “It’s so amazing to see her get on stage and have that healing process and you see it right in front of you.” Carrie Underwood added, “I hope that continues and I hope that she can find peace.”
Jennifer Hudson won a Grammy for best R&B album.
