American Idol: Posh Spice Turned Down Judging Role

Victoria Beckham also known as Posh Spice from the 1990 UK group Spice Girls,was apparently considered to be a judge on American Idol, but was too busy for the role. It had also been rumored that she would be taking Dannii Minogue’s spotas a judge on The X Factor, but her manager Simon Fuller said this is not true.

“We didn’t really think about her for the UK,”American Idol creator Simon Fullersaid last night at the debut eveningof The American Idol Experience at Disney World.

“It was more for here [America]. We toyed with the idea but she is just so busy with her fashion.”

Simon Fuller also talked aboutVictoria Beckham’s latest fashion line and said it is”even better” than her previous collections.

Victoria Beckham rose to fame with 1990′s pop group the Spice Girls and was given the title Posh Spice, by a British pop music magazine.

After the Spice Girls followed separate careers, Victoria Beckham tried her hand at a solo music career, but shehas had more success withher international career in fashion. She designed a line of jeans for Rock & Republic and later designed her own denim brand, dVb Style. She has had success in designing accesories and even fragrance.

In addition, she has released two bestselling books; one her autobiography, the other a fashion guide. Victoria Beckham’s fashion success has even earned her a role as guest judge on Project Runway in the past.

Victoria Beckham will head to New York to launch her new collection at the city’s fashion week.
