American Idol host, Ryan Seacrest confirmed on FoxNews that Joanna Pacitti’s relationship with 19 Entertainment’s Michelle Young and Roger Widynowski may be the reason that she was given the boot out of the top 36 this week. The singer has been the subject of controversy since receiving her golden ticket to Hollywood.
“The producers do the background checks right around [the] Hollywood [round],” Ryan Seacrest said. “When they see something that stands out, they have to address it. And they saw something, and there was apparently some sort of a link that, somewhere along the line, could be construed as one that’s close to the competition, and they didn’t want to risk it.”
Ryan Seacrest, who was inattendance atthe opening of the new American Idol Experienceattraction at Disney World last night, was sympathetic to Joanna Pacitti and the fact that she had been disqualified after making it as far as she did in the show.
“It’s a sad thing to have to tell a contestant they can’t compete, but we have to play by our rules,” Ryan Seacrest said.
The first voting round will take place next Tuesday on American Idol when six males and six female contestantswill compete to stay in the running.
