Amazing Race 14: Teams Travel To Transylvania

Tonight, teams will leave Salzburg, Austria, and travel to the land of Dracula on CBS’s the Amazing Race. The teams will have to learn gymnastics in Romaniaand also help some gypsies along the way. Tammy and Victor will experience setbacksdue toplane issues and Victor’s stubborn attitude. Will it be enough to eliminate them from the race?
Tammy and Victor are the first to depart on this leg of the amazing race headed for Bucharest, Romania. Once there, teams must take a taxi to the gymnastics hall for their clue. Tammy and Victor manage to get the last available seats on the earliest flight, departing at 3:30. The rest of the teams are still travelling to the airport via train. Many of them try to strike up friendships with locals in hopes of getting some help. Mel and Mike arrive at the airport and the next earliest flight is at 4:45.
Then an unexpected problem occurs with Tammy and Victor’s plane and they have choose a different flight. They aren’t able to leave until 9:30 giving the other teams a big advantage over them. They sit down to get some food and are joined by Cara and Jamie, and Mike and Mark. When the teams get to Romania, they encounter a road block:
ROAD BLOCK: One team member must learn gymnastic moves: balance beam, parallel bars, and floor exercises to get their next clue.
Amanda and Kris whiz through the task and are instructed to travel to Translylvania and find “The Black Church.” They arrive at the train station with Maggie and Luke following closely and find that the earliest train leaves for Transylvania at 6:30am so they must stay there overnight.Back at the gym, all the teams have come and gone, but Tammy is having a hard time doing the task. Eventually, they catch up to everyone at the train station even though they had a later flight than everyone else. Her and Victor are having more communication issues and Tammy feels like Victor puts her down. Once the teams get to Transylvania, they encounter a detour:
In Gypsy Moves: Teams must go to a gypsy settlement and load a family’s belongings then transport it via horse and wagon to their new home. In Vampire Remains: Teams must go to a woods, follow the marked path,drag a coffin to a clearing, unlock it, and smash the pieces of the puzzle onto wooden stakes to reveal a hidden flag.
Mel and Mike choose gypsy moves and are startled at the amount of stuff they have to lift. Amanda and Kris are there at the detour as well. Tammy and Victor are wandering in the woods and can’t find the coffins, meanwhile Cara and Jamie are lost in their taxi. Tammy keeps telling Victor she thinks they are on the wrong path because the markers are not red and yellow, but Victor says they are fine. Victor tells her that he’s sorry they have to do something she thinks is wrong, but that’s what they’re going to do. Tammy tries to convince him to turn around, but with no success.
Meanwhile, Brad and Victoria haven’t even made it to the detour yet and are in last place. Finally, Tammy and Victor reach a tree marker that has an arrow in both directions on it and Tammy begs for them to go back. Victor agrees and they go all the way back down the mountain and through the woods. When they get to the beginning, they see the correct marker. They get their coffin down and when it comes time to unlock it, they have lost their key along the way.
After completion of the detour, teams must make their way to a mountain, cottage Vila Panoramic, that overlooks the castle of Dracula. Mel and Mike are the first team to arrive at the pitstop! They win a trip to Costa Rica. Amanda and Kris are the second to arrive. Margie and Luke are team four, followed by Mark and Mike, Christie and Jody, Jamie and Cara, and Tammy and Victor. Brad and Victoria are the last team to arrive and thus, are eliminated from the Amazing Race.
The Amazing Race 14 airs Sundays at 8 PM ETon CBS.
