The recession has been hitting Americans hard and Hollywood definately isnot recession proof. The latest victim of the bad economy is Alex McCord, The Real Housewives of New York Citystar lost her job as a visual merchandiser for Victoria Secretwhen the company cut 10 percent of its home-office workforce recently.
In an interview with Life & Style,Alex McCordtalks about the shock of losing her job and how she is handling it all. “It was definitely a very big surprise. My own immediate supervisor didn’t even know it was happening,” Alex McCordsaid.
Alex McCord began looking for a job immediately after she was let go on Feb. 27 and told Life & Style, “It’s really interesting to see where to go from here. I’ve been making calls, updating my rÃƒsumÃƒ, and sitting down with people and chatting. I’m exploring all of my options.”
Alex McCord who lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two boys says that her family has been “incredibly supportive.” Her husband, Simon McCord, is the general manager for Hotel Chandler which haskept Alex McCord from having to collect unemployment insurance. She states though there may be changes for her family on the horizon saying”if I’m not able to replace my income by the time my severance runs out, discretionary expenses and our nanny are where we’d have to cut back.”
Alex McCord will stay on as part of The Real Housewives of New York City and says that her friends from the show, “have been overwhelmingly supportive.”
