America’s Next Top Model: Fights Break Out During New York Auditions

According to police, fightsbroke out on Saturdayduring auditions inNew York City forthe next installment of America’s Next Top Model. After the dust settled, two women and a man were arrestedfor disorderly conduct and six others were injured, two requiring hospitalization.Police also canceled the next day’s auditions, saying it wasn’t properly organized.

Witnesses told TheNew YorkTimesthat fightsoccurred when contestant hopefulsbecame upsetdue tounorganized conditions after they’d waited on the street overnight hoping for a chance to try out for the hit CW reality TV show.

One contestant, Jessica Paravati told WNYW-TV that, “It was pretty scary.” She had been stampeded while waiting in line. Witnesses also reported that the street outside the audition venue was left littered with shoes and various articles of clothing.

America’s Next Top Model executive producer and host, Tyra Banks andrepresentatives for The CW Network, which airs the show have not made a statement regarding the incident.

The next tryouts for America’s Next Top Modelwill take place this month in Dallas, Chicago and Los Angeles.
