It seems that the judges are marking the contestants a little bit easier this season, on Dancing With The Stars. Maybe they have decided to give everyone a break in light of all of the injuries. What ever the reason, three couples tied at the top of the leader board last night with triple nines, a score of 27 out of 30.
Gilles Marini and Chery Burke danced a hot and streamy samba and it was no surprise that they were at the top as they have consistently been frontrunners this season.
The second frontrunner onDancing With The Starslast night was The Bachelor star Melissa Rycroft who is partnered with Tony Dovolani. They danced a foxtrot which was beautiful, but Melissa looked as though she were using a lot of thesame choreographyfrom her fist dance on the show? The judges, except Carrie Ann seem to love her and are probably afraid to give her a lower score due to all of the hate mail they would receive from the viewers. Melissa Rycroft has, after all she has been through, become America’s Sweetheart.
Last but not least, in the top position, after dancing her foxtrot on Dancing With The Starswas the youngest competitor, Shawn Johnson who is partnered with Mark Ballas. Her performance last night was that of someone much older than 17 and she earned the right to be one of the top contenders.
The judges scores combined with the votes from ABC viewers is what keeps the dancers in the game. Out of the three top contenders last night on Dancing With The Stars, it is hard to say who will dance into the hearts of the viewing audience.
Gilles Marini and Melissa Rycroft will likely split the female audience votes, he for being so H-O-T and her for being aburned lover, but where does that leave Shawn Johnson? Will she end upsuffering the same demise as Mark Ballas’ past partner, theCheetah girl and be voted out due to lack of viewer support? Only time will tell.
Tonight’s elimination round will again feature a dance off between the two lowest scoring couples. Be sure to tune in to Dancing With The Starsat 9 PM ET after President Obama’s address to the nation. 1980′s hit duo Daryl Hall and John Oates will be performing as well as two-time Grammy winner, Adele.
