The Top 10 American Idol finalists have nothing to be sad about if they get eliminated from here on in, they have already earned a top spot on the show’s nationwide concert tour which will take place this summer. Dates and tour locations have yet to be announced for the tour, which follows the show’s May 20 finale.
What they’ll be paid for the tour is kept under wraps by American Idolproducers and even the Top 10 contestants haven’t been told yet what their paycheck will amount to but Kris Allen says, “I keep hearing that it’s plenty,” adding, “That’s nice.”
It isn’t all about the money either for the Top 10. Along with the paycheck is a chance to connect with fans and to build careers and the Top 10 will plenty of time to do just that. The typical American Idol concert tour lasts more than three months and includes 50 or 60 concerts, including stadiums.
The excitement of the American Idol tour includes the chance for the contestants to live their dream and Scott MacIntyre told the Associated Press, “I’ll definitely be sticking around, I hope, after all is said and done. I’m not stopping.”
Danny Gokey says he wants the same, “It’s so exciting to be on the road and fulfilling the dream that I’ve had. I’m hoping it’s just the beginning,” he said.
