American Idol: Michael Sarver Hoping For A Career Change
April 01, 2009 11:00 AM by Britteny Elrick

Texan Michael Sarver was eliminated last week from American Idol when his rendition of the Motown song Ain’t To Proud To Beg did not please the judges… or America. It is no secret that Michael is a hardworking, family guy who won over the hearts of America with his charm and kind demeanor. However, in a recent interview, Michael revealed that he might be ditching his job back home for a new career.
The recording artist hopeful says he plans to ditch his job at the oil rigs in order to pursue a career in music. Michael believes that considering he made it so far on American Idolit shows him that there people who appreciate his talent and he’s going to give them more. He wants the opportunity to get his music out there.
After last Thursday’s elimination, Michael told reporters, “There is something that America does not know about me. I am a serious writer. I have written over 890 songs since the age of 14. There is a lot of stories, a lot of life, a hard-lived life and a good-lived life… and I’m going to share it.” Michael says that his dream is to make a pop album with a bit of R&B inspiration, but his number one priority is getting back home to see his wife and kids. He says, “I learned just how much I love my family because I’ve never been away from them for that long and they deserve my undivided attention.”
