American Idol: Simon Cowell Wants President Obama To Appear On The Show

Everyone’s favorite American Idol judge, Simon Cowell, has mentioned some lofty plans for the show recently. In an interview with Absolute Radio, Cowell said that he hopes to get a visit from President Obama on an upcoming show. So is there any possibility that Simon’s wish might come true?
After seeing Obama’s appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Cowell said that the President seems like a “really cool guy.” Maybe Cowell took it as a compliment when Obama made the comment: “Unfortunately, everyone in Washington is like Simon Cowell,” when referring to the criticism he has received lately. Cowell says that theyhave been intalks to have the President make an appearance on the show.
He was also asked about his feelings on this season of American Idol. Simon responded saying, “It is going fine. I think we’re up to our third live show. It’s one of my favorite series we’ve done in a long time – interesting people, some talent, so I think it’s going to be good this year. We pinch ourselves every year when we’re back for another season because when we first came over here seven or eight years ago, we genuinely thought we’d be on air for a couple of weeks, they’ll kick us off and throw us out of the country and that would be the end of it.” He concluded the interview saying that the fact that the show has been running for this many years is amazing.
Based on the show’soverwhelming following, it certainly doesn’t seem like Simon will be packing up the American Idolstage any time soon.
