America’s Next Top Model: New York Casting Call Rescheduled For April 11, 2009

April 11, 2009 08:00 AM by Britteny Elrick

TheoriginalAmerica’s Next Top Model New York casting call was shut down because things got out of control after rumor spread of a bomb threat. Hundreds of women began running through the streets, which resulted in several injuries and even some being hospitalized. The CW Network has rescheduled the cast call for today, but this time with a few more ground rules…

This season,America’s Next Top Model auditions have a different requirement: you must be 5’7 or under as opposed to the opposite way around. The network believes that this is the reason there has been such an overwhelming turnout for the auditions. According to Tyra Banks, “There have been top supermodels in the past that weren’t as tall as the industry demands, like fashion icon Kate Moss. So we are changing up Top Model for Cycle 13 and making it a year for the shorter model!”

Those wanting to audition, are allowed to start lining up at 6AM. In attempt to keep any chaos under wraps, the auditioners will all receive a colored wristband which will let them know when to come back to the site and audition. Other guidelines say that only women may stand in the line and minors may only have one guardian with them. Also all auditioners can only carry one bag, which can “fit comfortably on your lap inside the venue.”
