Although the country was sad to see Scott MacIntyre go, most of us had come to grips withthe reality that it would be a cold day in hell before he would win American Idol. In a recent interview on FOX‘s KTTV-TV Los Angeles affiliate with ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour, Simon Cowell discussed Scott MacIntyre’srecent elimination…
After the live broadcast that decided Scott’s fate, Terri Seymour asked Simon all about why they didn’t use the judges save. Simon said,”I think it would have been a bit patronizing to [use] it tonight…when you listen to it back [his] vocals weren’t that good.”Simon continues to say that in order to use the judges’ save all four of them must agree. He says it’s possible that they won’t even use it at all this season. “If we don’t [use it], we don’t. I’m not gonna save someone for the sake of it,” he says.
Scott did try to plead his case on last Wednesday’s results show by saying, “I know I can please you another week Simon.” What everyone probably guessed was also confirmed by Terri -that Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi were the two judges in favor of saving Scott, when Simon mentioned it was a tie. “I had a real girly-woman moment, like, I really didn’t want him to go,” DioGuardi told Seymour.
Alas though Simon did deliver the bad news in telling Scott that it was the end of the road for him.
