American Idol: Is Simon Cowell Leaving The Show?

Lately,a fair amount of rumors have circulated regarding the fact that Simon Cowell might be leaving American Idolnext year. Apparently, his contract is up with Idol after this season, and combined with Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor, Simon’s is spread quite thin. Find out what he had to say…
In an interview with Britain’s The Mirror newspaper, Simon said, “Most people do one show a year and I do three and they involve a lot of traveling. One may have to go. I don’t know which one. That is the problem, I like all of them. I can’t imagine not doing ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and I can’t imagine not doing ‘X Factor.’ But I guess America is more likely to go because I have got one year under contract. Maybe that will be the end.”
With Simon’s current schedule, he could be facing four international flights per week this summer, which could make him even more unpleasant than usual! He continues, “I don’t want to come over as whiney because I am very grateful that I have got these jobs. But there is a point where I am not sure we can keep this schedule up.”He adds, “I’ll make a decision next year as to what I do as an on-screen judge because there is a big, big schedule now and I do two other shows, so it’s been hard. I think that this show [American Idol] could continue for another 10, 20 years, to be honest with you.”
Simon wouldn’t embellish, but he has said he’s adding a big new show next year to his already unbearably hectic schedule. As you can imagine, this is also taking a toll on Simon’sromantic life. He admits he hasn’t been involved with anyone since he split fromlong-time girlfriend Terri Seymour.”There is no shortage of people if you want to go on dates – working in TV, living in L.A., it is there if you want it. But I am enjoying hanging out with my friends. I haven’t had time to go on dates,” he said.
