American Idol season four contestant, Jessica Siera, is free to speak. After filming Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehabin 2007, Jessica was charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer and was forced into rehabilitation followed by three years of probation. This charge was a violation of her current probation for assault and drug possession. As a deterrent to keep Jessica from using her fame to promote substance abuse, she was ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from microphones or cameras…
According to the Tampa Tribune, Jessica’s attorney, Stephen Iglesias, has said that she completedthe treatment program and has been drug free for over 18 months. “So far she’s been doing great,” he said. Despite the order being lifted by Circuit Court Judge Gregory Holder, the Assistant State Attorney Felix Vega thinks she still needs supervision and her counselors have agreed. Vega said referring to her counselor, “He said she needed to be out of the spotlight to help her recovery. She is not to make a career out of her addiction and the crimes she committed.”
Sierra recently told ABC news, “Now my life continues and I get to go back into the studio and record an album and I’m just gonna continue doing what I’m doing. I work with kids, raising awareness for drug prevention, so I’m gonna continue doing that and just add music to it now.” She says that she wants to create a CD with blues and rock inspired tunes that talks about the realities of her life and addictions. Jessica also says that she’s not opposed to doing her own reality show to inspire others.
