Former Dancing With The Stars contestant Marie Osmond, has alot to talk about! A single mother of eight children, Marie has grown up in the public eye,performing and singing since childhood. In her first best-selling book, Behind The Smile, Marie discussed life after having a baby andsuffering withpostpardum depression.A recent article by the Associated Press has the scoop on Marie’s new book, Might As Well Laugh About It Now…
In hermemoir, Marie discusseseverything from her divorces to herweight gainand everything in between. The format of the book is set upas short stories that are eachaccompanied by a photo, which will enable the reader to start the book at any point that interests them.
As reported by the Associated Press, Marie said,“Maybe because I started working at such a young age, I did learn to laugh. Look at girls today … we get so humiliated that we run from things. And to me that’s missing out on life.” She continues, “I really wanted to put some things down that were really meaningful to me.It’s really about attitude … you can either let life get you down or you can laugh about it.”
“Self-esteem isn’t something you buy for your kids, it’s something you earn,” Osmond said. “I was the hottest teenager dubbed into 17 languages and I’d come home after 17 hours of work and my mom would say, `OK, go scrub the toilets.’”
