Jackass star Steve-O may have been the life of the party on Dancing With The Stars, but he’s taking a serious turn on his newMTV documentary. The show is set to air soon and follows Steve-O’s journey throughouthis battle with drugs and alcohol. Keep reading for more details…
Steve-O’s documentary, “Steve-O: Demise and Rise” will air on May 3 at 10 ET/9 CT. It leads up to the time that Steve-O hit rock bottom to when his friends called for an intervention. It also chronicles some of his highs and lows during his first week on Dancing With The Stars.
Steve, who has been sober for over 13 months now, told Marc Malkin of E! News, “Watching it was horribly unhealthy for me. You think that would help keep me sober, you know seeing myself as this raving lunatic…It absolutely triggered these crazy urges to get loaded.” He continues, “I have been in and out of love with this project. The idea of helping people, sure that’s great. But you know, I don’t want to be a role model.”
Now, Steve has relocated from L.A., which he feels will help him stay sober. “While I was locked up in the psychiatric ward, my buddies moved me out of my apartment, because I had been evicted. I lost my cell phone with all the bad phone numbers in it. I had no place to live and no one to call, so I just kinda took up a new life in Pasadena,” he said.
So now that he’s gone, who’s Steve’s pick to win Dancing With The Stars? “I think Gilles is probably the best dancer. But Lil’ Kim might [win],I don’t know. I love everyone. I love Gilles. I love Shawn. I love Lil’ Kim. I love Ty,” he said. In conclusion, Steve left E! News with one final thought: “If I learned anything, it’s probably to not dance anymore.”
