Tonight on Dancing With The Stars, Melissa and Tony were the judges choice to show their routine for the second time. With only five couples left in the competition, who would be leaving the show tonight and who would go onto the semi-final round next week?
First,Jamie Cullum performed the Cole Porter classic I Get a Kick Out of You, joined on the Dancing With The Stars stage by International Grand Ball Champions Agnieszka Kazmierczak and Urs Gaisenhainer. Jamie Cullum is a worldwide star noted for his raw energy, insatiable musical creativity and fearlessly engaging live performances. He’s been called a “one man British invasion” and, with sales of over 5 million albums worldwide, has been hailed as the UK’s most successful jazz artist. Most recently he was nominated along with Clint Eastwood for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for their composition, Gran Torino, to go along with Jamie Cullum’s previous Grammy and Golden Globe nominations.
Former Dancing With The Stars celebrities Kenny Mane and Jerry Rice returned to the ballroom with head judge Len Goodman for another critical analysis of the remaining competitors in a special edition of DanceCenter.
The first couple saved tonight was revealed by hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris and they were Gilles and Cheryl.
Macy’s Stars of Dance brought a special collaboration between hip hop choreographer Marty Kudelka and contemporary choreographer Dee Caspary to the Dancing With The Stars stage in a fusion of styles that transformed the dance floor with one of the largest set pieces ever brought to the stage – in the shape of a star.
The first Dancing With The Stars professional dancer competition continued with three dancers remaining. After Genya was eliminated based on last week’s viewer votes, the three remaining dancers were paired with former Dancing With The Stars celebrity competitors from previous seasons. By the end of this season, one lucky dancer, determined by viewers’ votes, will be selected as a member of next season’s Dancing With The Stars cast to be paired with a celebrity.
First, Afton was paired up with Cody Linley tonight and they danced the Samba. It was nice to see Cody back on the ballroom floor.
Len said that Afton did a very good job with wooden Cody. Bruno said that Afton pulled the strength out of Cody. Carrie Ann said that Afton’s skills really came to life.
The next couple who made it to the semi-finals was Melissa and Tony.
Mayo was the next professional trying for a spot on the show next season and his partner was Lisa Rinna. They danced the Quickstep and Mayo had a unique routine prepared for the two of them that was hot!
Bruno said Mayo thankyou for taking advantage of Lisa’s startling assets. Carrie Ann said that sometimes the routine was a little out of control. Len said that Mayo pushed the boundaries and did a good job.
The final professional dancing tonight was Anna and she was paired with Maurice Green. They performed a Tango and in my opinion, Anna haswon the coveted spot for next season!
Carrie Ann said with a performance like that you two could be heading into the semi-finals. Len said that Anna brought the most out of the celebrity tonight. Bruno said Anna you are a miracle worker.
Tom Bergeron then announced that the next couple who had secured a place in the semi-finals tonight was Shawn and Mark, which meant that Lil’ Kim and Derek and Ty and Chelsie were in the bottom two.
The couple safe tonight was Ty and Chelsie (WHAT???) and the couple going home was Lil’ Kim and Derek.
