Fox has announced More to Love, a new reality dating series that will star a plus-size bachelor as he attempts to find love among several plus-size bachelorettes. The series is being produced by Mike Fleiss, who also producedThe Bachelor andwill premiere on Tuesday, July 28 at 9PM ET/PT.

Fox reality chief Mike Darnell says thatthe comeback success this past season of The Bachelor and the surprisingly high ratings for NBC‘s weight-lossshow The Biggest Loser convinced him and Fleiss the time was right to launch a show that combined the best of both series.

“There have literally been about 50 iterations of the ‘Bachelor’-type TV shows . . . but most of them are basically skinny women and a nice-looking man. That’s nice, but it’s not the real world,” says Mike Darnell. “The vast majority of people who watch those shows don’t look anything like that,” he says. “People of a heavier size don’t need love any less. Beauty and love come in all shapes and sizes. This is an entertaining idea that’s relatable to most of the people in the dating world. It’s sort of like a social experiment — disproving the idea that we only watch shows featuring the thinnest of the thin.”

“This is a dating show that sends the right message about embracing and loving yourself no matter your shape or size,” Fleiss added. “When you are comfortable with your own body, you can really allow yourself to be open to the possibility of finding the right person to love.”
