Celebrity Apprentice: Joan Vs. Annie Finale Preview

May 10, 2009 09:07 AM by Britteny Elrick

It’s going to be the showdown of a lifetime as Annie Duke and Joan Rivers, who have been at odds with each otherall season,go head to head on the three hour season finale of the Celebrity Apprentice. Also, last season’s winner Piers Morgan and runner-up Trace Adkins will return for the final hour…

According to the NBCpress release:

After the firing of Clint Black, Brande Roderick and Jesse James in last week’s exciting episode, two arch-rivals are left to face off in the final showdown: world-renowned comedienne Joan Rivers and world champion poker player Annie Duke. In this final challenge, project managers Joan and Annie will compete to create a pre-theatre VIP party experience, sponsored by Kodak, for patrons attending Cirque du Soleil’s hit show “Wintuk.”

The three-hour finale will be telecast live Sunday, May 10 (8-11 p.m. ET) from the Museum of Natural History in New York City where last season’s finalists, winner Piers Morgan (“America’s Got Talent”) and runner up, country music superstar Trace Adkins, will make a special appearance before Donald Trump reveals the next Celebrity Apprentice.

“This season’s final boardroom showdown is guaranteed to be the most astonishing we’ve ever had, a fitting finale to a fantastic season,” said executive producer Donald Trump. “Joan Rivers and Annie Duke have done a tremendous job. Congratulations to them bothâ⬔and may the best woman win!”

In this second season of Celebrity Apprentice, America has again watched celebrities from the sports, television, musical, comedy and movie worlds collide and put their reputations on the line to win money for their charities, and now it is down to the final two – archenemies Joan Rivers and Annie Duke. In this three-hour finale episode, Joan and Annie are pleasantly surprised to see the return of some of their former teammates, Dennis Rodman, Tom Green, Melissa Rivers, Brande Roderick, Clint Black and Herschel Walker, and must choose among them to create a team that will lead them to one last victory and a huge donation to their chosen charity.

In the hours before a performance of Cirque du Soleil’s hit show “Wintuk,” each team will produce a pre-theatre VIP party, sponsored by Kodak, featuring a silent auction made up of items the celebrities themselves bring to the table. The feuding finalists vow to mercilessly defeat one another and they begin their task. However, with little time remaining, the event planning company quits, and both teams struggle to quickly transform a completely empty space into an environment that will impress the Kodak executives. The live boardroom, held at New York City’s Museum of Natural History, hosts a reunion with this season’s competing celebrities and the return of last year’s winner Piers Morgan and runner up, country star Trace Adkins. In the final minutes of this live finale, Donald Trump mediates one last boardroom blowout between Joan and Annie, fires one of them and announces this season’s Celebrity Apprentice.

As a reward, both finalists wrote and produced their own spot, profiling their charities for NBC‘s “The More You Know” campaign. These public service announcements will debut during Celebrity Apprentice season finale.

What a joke? Why is there an entire season of competition when it really only comes down to the final task? It was inevitable that Joan would win because she and Donald are friends. Even though Annie brought in the most money the entire season, won more tasks as Project Manager and was more dignified than Joan and her childest dependent daughter who couldn’t survive without mommy. I am very disappointed that his decision was not based on the overall results of the entire season.

That will be the last time I watch the Celebrity Apprentice! Joan and Melissa are a disgrace to all Americans. I use to use ALL but quit because of them! They are both spoiled! If I would act like them I hope someone would slap me and wash my mouth out with soap!!! Yes she is 75 but you would think she would have learned a little respect or at least tried to teach her daughter. They both have an additude problem. I’ll NEVER support anything they stand for!!!!!!!!!!! Both of you need to grow up!!!!

I have faithfully watched Celebrity Apprentice for 8 yrs…I am done!!! in the past–volunteering for the boardroom, quitting, even a DUI –all got everyone FIRED—FINE—-Joan Rivers broke glasses–acted like a brat–etc–I would be embarrased to be her—she stomped out and quit & never should have been allowed back—except it is now obvious Donald did it for the ratings—just as tonight ANNIE should have won—-I will never watched a RIGGED REALTY SHOW AGAIN–and I am all for the Seniors as I myself am over 61!-Goodbye Trump-I won’t watch again!

I am glad Joan Rivers won! Annie Duke(is it?), is self absorbed. She seeked only to put herself first…I, I, I. The question should be why did Clint Black last so long..what connection does Donald have with him? Does he play at the Donald’s private parties? A lot of people like nighttime soap operas, which is much how this played out! What do the celebrites have to loose but each other’s respect and admiration. We get a free show at their expense! I was entertained!
