Tonight on Dancing With The Stars, one more star will be eliminated and three will head into the final round next week. Will it be the cowboy, the actor or the cheerleader that leaves the show tonight?
To kick off the show, singer-songwriter and producer Raphael Saadiq performed his hit, 100 Yard Dash from his third solo album, three time Grammy Award nominated The Way I See It, released in 2008 and featuring collaborations from Stevie Wonder and Joss Stone.
Next Shawn and Mark gave a repeat performance of their Argentine Tango from last night and reigning champion, Brooke Burke and former champions Helio Castroneves and Drew Lachey gave their take on what is needed to go all the way in the Dancing With the Stars competition.
The first Dancing With The Stars professional dancer competition continued tonight with two dancers remaining. After one more of the six professional dancers was eliminated based on last week’s viewer votes, the two remaining dancers were paired with a Dancing With The Stars professional dancer. Anna was paired with Maksim and Mayo was paired with Kym.
Up first was Mayo and Kym and they had to perform two dances this week, the Cha Cha and the Tango. Kym was expecting a lot from Mayo as to be on the show, you have to be the best. Mayo was hoping to make a statement with his choreography! Their first dance was the Tango. The game is clearly on after seeing them dance.
Len said that he loved it, Bruno said that Mayo used the beauty of his partner and Carrie Ann said that she wants to see a bit more of his personality in the next dance.
Then, Anna and Mayo were up and Maks was being very picky with her as the show asks for a lot from its professional dancers. She was excellent at putting him in his place. They were dancing the Quick Step and the Samba. The first dance was the Quick Step and they both put on a great show for the audience and the judges.
Bruno said it was radiant and lightening fast and shekept up with Maks. Carrie Ann said that she thinks any celebrity would be lucky to have her. Len said that she is 21 years old and dances with elegance and brought the best out of Maks.
By the end of this season, one lucky dancer, determined by viewers’ votes, will be selected as a member of next season’s Dancing With The Stars cast to be paired with a celebrity.
In a special Macy’s Stars of Dance performance, the Macy’s Design-a-Dance winning elements, including song, type of dance, male & female lead dancers and costume design selected by the public, was revealed. Since the beginning of the season, viewers have been logging onto ABC.com to submit their own costume designs, as well as vote for their favorite song, type of dance and dancers to create the public’s ideal vision and performance. The five final costume designs were selected and voted on by the public, leaving one lucky winner with the most votes to have his or her costume created by the show designer and worn by the winning professional dancers in the performance.
Rebecca Farmer designed the costumes that the pros Julianne Hough, Derek Hough, Lacey Schwimmer and Mark Ballas wore as they danced to It Don’t Mean a Thing If You Ain’t Got That Swing.
Next, Mayo and Kym came out and danced their Cha Cha Cha. It was H-O-T!
Carrie Ann said thatshe wonders if Mayo is going to be versatile enough. Len said that the Tango was far superior to this dance, but good job. Bruno said you know what you have to get out of it before taking risks.
Next up in her final chance to earn your votes was Anna, doing a Samba with Maks. She has definately won this competition!
Len said he thinks from week one right through until tonight she has done a great job and if she doesn’t win he will show his bum in the supermarket. Bruno said she has done a fantastic job each time. Carrie Ann said she is not alone in saying she wants to see more of her.
As all of the dancers awaited their fate, Tom Bergeron revealed the first and second couples to go onto the finals next week and it was Gilles and Cheryl and Shawn and Mark.
Tonight Ty and Chelsie and Melissa and Tony were in the bottom two and this week the couple leaving was Ty and Chelsie!
