Open Casting Call For America’s Got Talent May 14, 2009

Thursday, May 14,the Todayshow will be hosting an open casting call forAmerica’s Got Talent. Matt, Meredith, Al, and Ann will select three acts from the auditions to perform live on Monday’s show, where viewers will thenvote for their favorite.The winner will be flown to L.A., where they will have the opportunity to audition for judges Piers Morgan, David Hasselhoff, and Sharon Osbourne.

NEW YORK – May 11, 2009 – - Today is calling all fans and viewers to fine-tune their fiddles, dust off their dance shoes and come down to the Plaza for a last-chance audition for NBC’s America’s Got Talent. On Thursday, May 14, the popular TV program and sister show to Britain’s Got Talent, will hold its final round of auditions live on America’s number one morning program.

Matt, Meredith, Al and Ann will put their judging hats on and select three lucky acts from Thursday’s auditions to perform live on Today, Monday, May 18. Today viewers will then vote online on TODAYshow.com for their favorite act, and the winner will be announced live on Today, Tuesday, May 19. The winner will then be flown immediately to Los Angeles for a final audition in front of the America’s Got Talentjudges, Piers Morgan, David Hasselhoff and Sharon Osbourne.

Fans and viewers are encouraged to come to the Plaza at 30 Rockefeller Center in New York City for the open call, Thursday, May 14 from 6 a.m. – 9 a.m. to register for the auditions. The auditions will last throughout the day at a nearby location. Pre-registration is also available online at AGTauditions.com/new/today. After Matt, Meredith, Al and Ann select three acts, viewers can log on to TODAYshow.com Monday, May 18, to vote for their favorite act.

America’s Got Talent, NBC’s top rated summer series from producers FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell’s SYCO Television, premieres Tuesday, June 23 (9-11p.m. ET) and will continue Wednesday, June 24 (9-10p.m. ET) with the hottest performers from across the country ready to compete in the blockbuster reality show’s fourth season. New this season, the multi-talented entertainer/producer and comedian Nick Cannon joins as host. The show will continue to be presided over by the explosive combination of celebrity judges David Hasselhoff, Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan.
