As we reported last month, Gilles Marini needs surgery for his separated shoulder, but he will be waiting until after Dancing With The Starsto undergo the operation. According to an interview with ET, Gilles isn’t the only one in his family that needs surgery. Gilles’ daughter, who also requires surgery, will be having hers on the same day and will even share a hospital room with her dad…
“My daughter needs a little surgery too,” Gilles tells ET of his daughter Juliana, “So we’re going to have one room. We’re having surgery the same day — that way we can actually stay together.”Gilles is confident that his shoulder will feel like new after about three weeks of recovery. He says, “If not, you know, whatever.”
“The shoulder, it’s old news I know that,” he says.”It’s just that we’re getting a little closer to the surgery and I’m getting a little bit antsy, I’m like, ‘Ok, what’s going to happen.” But this isn’t going tokeep him from giving an all-out performance in the finals. Although he can no longer lift anything with his left arm, Gilles says,”I’m not gonna back up and say, ‘Oh, I can’t dance because of that.’ Hell no!’ It’s the biggest thing I’m ever gonna do, next Monday…I don’t want to give up.”
