American Idol: Terri Seymour Requests Restraining Order

Terri Seymour is fighting back against Idol fan Janice Thibodeaux, who attacked her outside the Nokia Theatre at the American Idolfinale. The attacker told RadarOnline that she attempted to strangle Terriin order to seek revenge onSimon Cowell, who had playfully pretended to choke Paula Abdul on the show earlier that night.

According to E! News, Terri stated in her court papers that Thibodeaux”attacked from behind, putting her into a headlock, wrenching her neck and choking her with the full force of her 200-pound frame.” She said that the attack happened “in full view of the public and police,”and that the police”did not deter Thibodeaux, and her acts were brazen and deranged.” “[I] could have been seriously injured or killed,” she said.

Terri also claims that since the attack,Thibodeauxhas “sought publicity for her wrongful act and stated to the media that they were intentional and that she does not regret them.” She adds that Thibodeaux “will again assault and further harass” her. She is requesting that the attacker keeps 100 yards away from herand also pays $10,000 to help with attorney fees.

The hearing is scheduled for June 16. Thibodeaux’s arraignment on the charges is set for June 4.
