All throughout last season, there were rumors circulating whether or not all of the American Idoljudges would be returning. It was the end of Simon Cowell’s contract, as well as Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi’s. Simon also mentioned that the commute with judging shows in both American and Britain was getting to him. Then with the addition of the fourth judge, the shows wentover their time slotso there was talk of axing Kara altogether. So who will be back this January?
It was recently reported by The New York Post that Simon is going to cash in on some of the 1 billion dollar revenues that Idol pulls in per season. He is estimated to be receiving anywhere from 100 – 144 million this season, which would be a hefty raise from his 35 million salary last year.
Paularecently told the Associated Press,”I’ve been invited to stay the duration of the show, however long it lasts.” There have been talks that Paula is still in negotiations, but plans to come back. “I do. I don’t have any reason to believe otherwise,”Ryan Seacresttold TV Guide on the return of Paula and Kara. Although maybe the recently married Kara would rather say at home with her new hubby?
Speaking of Ryan, he may just be the one who gets the biggest raise. According to the Associated Press, Ryan iscurrently in negotiations for the season. His current contract for 100,000/episode already made him the highest paid reality TV host in history and he is expected to be making much more.
