Tonightwas part one of The Fashion Showseason finale. The final four designers: Reco, Daniella, James-Paul, and Anna reunite after working on their individual collections for ten weeks. They are ecstatic to see each other, or shall I say noseytosize up their competition. Afterviewing thecollections, the judges will choose threedesigners to be voted on by America. So who will win the first season ofThe Fashion Show? Don’t forget to cast your vote!
Isaac and Kelly greet the designers and ask them what their inspiration was for their collections. We’ve got a whole spectrum of weird things including: Japanese armor, African tribes, indigenous people, and The Garden of Earthly Delights painting. They are also informed that the Editor in Chief of Harper’s Bazaar magazine will be in the audience at The Fashion Show.Isaac drops the bomb that all four will show their collections, however, America will only be voting on three. The judges will oust one more designer after they show their collections. Oh, that blows. I’m just going to throw this out there – see ya James.
The models show up for their fittings, and Reco is shocked and appalled that his main piece, a wedding gown, will not fit any of them. At one point he is jumping up and down yanking on one model’s chest to try and squeeze it on. Not happening. He decides to rip it apart and make it bigger. I mean if it won’t fit any of the models, who exactly was he thinking it would fit?
It’s the day ofThe Fashion Show and James is worried how the audience will respond to his collection. Well, if it contains more Shakespearean costumes or geometry inspired dresses, then he should be concerned. Just as Reco finally gets his wedding gown on someone, the zipper broke. As he frantically sews, the rest of the models get dressed.
Isaac and Kelly announce the start of the show and Daniella is up first. Her collection is inspired by different women in her family and has a very edgy, confident feel. The judges (and Reco) seem very impressed with her futuristic collection and Daniella is exuberant.
Reco’s collection is very unexpected and uses alot of Mayan Indian inspiration. His formal dresses are extraordinary, except for some dress that was covered in red and orange feathers from top to bottom. It looks worse than ridiculous. If this tells you anything, Theresa from the Real Housewives of New Jersey said that she’d wear it.
Anna’s collection is designed around the Garden of Earthly Delights painting and it is colorful, floral and earthy. She gets a lot of “oohs and aahhs” from the audience. Lastly, we have the loose cannon, James. James’ inspiration was about indigenous people wearing Western clothing. Oh, James… why do you always have to over think everything? His entire collection is black, scary, and awkward.
At the judging, Isaac tells Anna that many of the viewers said they’d wear several pieces from her collection. They they tell her that her collection seemed a little “disjointed” and had no cohesive theme. Anna starts crying and saying that she just wants to make things people want to wear. Come on, that’s not fashion.
When it comes to Daniella, they were impressed with the continuity of her collection. They thought that several of her pieces could be worn with other things and they loved the sexiness of her clothes. Moving on to Reco, Isaac starts raving and Fern interjects by saying that she was underwhelmed with the collection considering the time he had to work on it. Then she calls him out on the atrocious feathered dress and says no woman on earth would want to wear it. Apparently, she hadn’t polled Theresa yet. Finally, James. They liked the theme of his collection, but recommend he tries to simplify his outfits. They feel he might need to include an instruction manual with his clothes. Truer words have never been spoken.
In the end the judges choose Daniella, James, and Anna to be judged by America. What? James squeezed through over Reco? Not that I’m a fan of Reco by any means, but James just makes no sense.
