July 27, 2009 05:00 PM by Britteny Elrick

If you’ve been watching American Idolfor the past couple seasons, then you know all about Alexis Cohen. The wannabee Idol contestant was infamous for her profanity-infused meltdowns after being rejected two years in a row during auditions.Unfortunately, over the weekend Alexiswas founddead due to injuries she obtained from a hit and run accident in New Jersey.

Cohen auditioned for Idol in both 2007 and 2008, whereher antics caused quite a stir. A couple months before her death, Cohen created a video of her practicing stand-up comedy, which posted to her blog the day before she died. Cohen was discovered at 4 a.m. on Saturday morning andsuffered chest, head, and abdominal injuries from the hit and run. But was it really just an accident?

Apparently, Cohen’s car was found several hundred yards from her body, which raised suspicion for investigators. Many sources feel that the death may have been a homicide. However, this morning, one suspect was arrested in connection with the hit and run. The Inquisitor reported:

Daniel Bark has been arrested in connection with Alexis Cohen’s death. He allegedly ran over Cohen while driving his 2005 Mitsubishi Gallant and fled the scene of the accident early Saturday morning. Bark has been charged with hit and run and leaving the scene of an accident. Bark is being held in Ocean City, NJ, and his bail has been set at $35,000.
