Hearts were breaking everywhere for Reid Rosenthal when he decided to fly back to Hawaii to try to win over Jillian Harris on The Bachelorette finale. Although Reid and Jillian had an undeniableconnection, the bachelor wasn’t able to open up soon enough for Jillian to keep him around. When the pair reunited on the After The Final Rose episode, Reid was a true gentleman and refused to prod Jillian for answers and rather accepted her decision. Reid recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight about his decision to go back, what life has been like since the show, and what this experience has taught him…
First, Reid made it very clear that the show had nothing to do with his return. As he stated on the After The Final Roseepisode, he purchased his own engagement ring and that’s why it “wasn’t very nice.” Aw, Reid you’re killing us here. As far as his disheveled outfit on the finale he says, “I was making a fashion statement.” “I was in a huge rush to get back and I didn’t have time to do laundry. I didn’t know what was in my luggage. There wasn’t a lot of time. I didn’t have any clean clothes. I got there and I was wearing linen pants and sneakers and I thought I would have time to shower and change. When I showed up, I looked really bad, so I had to put on one of [host] Chris Harrison’s jackets. So that is basically how it went down,” he admits.
Reid toldET that he honesty thought if he’d of opened up earlier that Jillian would have sent Kiptyn home instead of him. “I thought I was the best guy with her,” Reid told ET. “I knew I wanted to spend tomorrow [with her]. I wasn’t 100 percent sure we were going to get married in six months or a year, but I knew she was someone I wanted to spend a lot of time with. I actually thought our relationship was 50 times better than the other guys. I thought it was my job to come back and get her.”
Reid also said that he hasn’t jumped back into the dating pool quite yet, although his phone has been ringing off the hook.So would he consider being The Bachelor? He says he isn’t quite sure yet, but he has definitely realized the importance of sharing his feelings. “That small amount of knowledge, I guess, is a drastic thing and might change [future] relationships,” he admits.
Reid, if you’re listening to this,we think you are just fine the way you are. Now go find the woman of your dreams.
