Next Food Network Star: Melissa d’Arabian’s ‘Ten Dollar Dinners’ Premieres August 9, 2009

Last night, millions watched as Melissa d’Arabian took home the title of The Next Food Network Star! After a nine-week long competition, Melissa managed to edge out Jeffrey Saad in last night’s finale to win her own reality TV show on the Food Network. Keep reading for more details on what you can expect from Melissa’s show, which premieres this Sunday, August 9th!

Bob Tuschman, Senior Vice President of Programming and Production at the Food Network, said of Melissa, “Week by week, Melissa proved she had the makings of a true food star. Her expert technique brought sophisticated flavors and ideas to home cooking, and her bright, warm, and down-to-earth personality made her a viewer favorite. We’re thrilled to share her wealth of ideas for making easy, delicious, and inexpensive meals.”

Melissa’s series, Ten Dollar Dinners,plans to help viewers learn how to incorporate creative, delicious meals on a budget. Using her own experiences as a stay-at-home mother to four daughters, she promises to keep the meals within a budget of $10 per episode and feed a family of four! She will also draw upon her travels and various culinary experiences as inspiration.
