America’s Got Talent 08/12/09: Five More Advance To The Top Twenty Semi-finals

August 12, 2009 07:07 PM by Paulene Hinds

Tonight on America’s Got Talent, five more actswere chosen by America to advance to the semi-finals and joined last weeks semi-finalists. Was your favorite chosen tonight and the biggest question of all…were those screeching triplets put through?

Host Nick Cannon revealed that the special guests tonight on the show would be none other than the magic act of Penn and Teller and the music group LMFAO.

Last night there were buzzers going and dogs flying as the acts came out to give it their all. Some succeeded, while others bombed and now the first acts to find out whether they would be going on tonight were the Fab 5 and the Beale Street Flippers. Tonight the Fab 5 were safe, while the Beale Street Flippers were headed home. America made a great call on that one for sure as those ladies were amazing last night.

LMFAO came out next and sang for the audience. I love Hip Hop as I am a dancer myself, but this song (Party Rock) wasn’t to my liking and I was happy that it was very short!

Back to tonight’s results, the Fab 5 have already made it through, but now The Voices of Glory, Eleisha Miller and Carol Loo were asked to step forward. After America voted, the next acts to go home were Carol Loo and Eleisha Miller. Voices of Glory were heading on to the next round. Eleisha Miller was so cute the way she held her head high tonight! Judge, Sharon Osbourne was in tears as the girl said that God made the right decision!

Next The Texas Tenors and Pete Peterkin were on the chopping block. One of them was safe tonight and the act going in to the semi-finals and moving one step closer to the their dream was the Texas Tenors.

With only two more places left in the semi-finals tonight, who made it through? Penn and Teller came out next to take the heat off of the contestants and as usual they were funny, witty and a little weird! It is a good thing the girl is really alive as my 7 year old may have been traumatized forever!

The next acts to find out their fate were SQ Entertainment, Alizma and Paridizo Dance. The one act going through to the semi-finals tonight was Paridizo Dance. Again I think America had it right tonight and Iwas very happy not to have to hear Alizma again!

The last two acts to be put on the chopping block tonight were Charles DeWayne and Tony Hoard with his dog Rockin’ Rory. Sharon Osbourne wasn’t able to make a decision so she asked David Hasselhoff for his help. David Hasslehoff voted Tony and Rory, but Piers Morgan did not agree and said it would be a scandal if Charles did not make it through. Sharon Osbourne then voted Tony through to the dismay of Piers Morgan. Oh my, I was surprised! Send in your comments on this one everyone!

Next week, 12 more acts perform on America’s Got Talent for your votes and a chance to make it into the semi-finals. Make sure you watch the show and cast your votes. You have the ability to make someone’s dream come true!

I can’t beleive Sharon O voted for the dog, instead of Charles DeWayne…..Looks like the judges got it wrong again this week, except for Piers…he’s the real one that knows talent. I’m upset with the judges on tonites show.

It appears to me that Piers tried to strong arm Sharon into putting Charles DeWayne through. While it is true that he was the better of the two acts, Sharon is not a woman to be strong armed and set about to prove it. Next time, Piers-dahling, just make your choice and keep your opinion to yourself until after the competition is over. This whole thing was scandalous, and unfortunately, Charles DeWayne had to pay the price.

I was a little shocked that Charles DeWayne didn’t advance??? Anyone else feel the same way?

I was in shock when Tony & Rory were chosen over Charles DeWayne! Not only were there a lot of mistakes with Tony & Rory’s act, but to even put both acts in the same category is ridiculous! What are these people thinking?

I agree…it has to do with being in the 5th and 6th place and up to the judges???? Even last week stumped me! Maybe they should have the 11th and 12th place being voted for by the judges…that would make more sense to me!
