There has been a star-studded lineup of Paula Abdul replacements during the American Idol audition process; however, according to Simon Cowell, the pint sized singer-choreographer just can’t be replaced. Keep reading to hear what he recently said about Paula and some of the guest judges…
Simon told Extra that it is “different” now without his sidekick. “It’s like comparing a carrot to a banana,” Cowell told Terri Seymour of sizing up the new judges. He admits that he wants to stay away from any comments on the issues between Paula and the producers, but he does miss her.
So far, Paula’s fourth seat has been warmed by the following celebrities: Victoria Beckham (Denver and Boston), Mary J. Blige (Atlanta), Joe Jonas and Neil Patrick Harris (Dallas), Kristin Chenoweth (Orlando), and Shania Twain (Chicago). Â Katy Perry and Avril Lavigne are scheduled for Los Angeles.
Simon said that Katy Perry was particularly opinionated.  ”She’s a feisty little thing,” he told Extra. Adding, “She’s quirky. Definitely got her own opinion Solo artists are not used to people disagreeing with them. They are feisty and I like that.”
“I don’t think she knew quite how right I was until she sat next to me,” he spouted off. Sigh. Well, I guess it didn’t take too long for him to bounce back after his depression.
