The past months have been crazy on America’s Got Talent and tonight all of the performers and the judges hard work has finally paid off as a new winner was crowned. Which of the final ten won the million dollars and the opportunity to headline a show in Las Vegas…Keep reading to see who was crowned the 2009 winner!
First of all I have to say that this season was amazing and the host Nick Cannon did an excellent job in his new role, winning the hearts of Americans. Great Job Nick! The very special guests tonight were Leona Lewis, Rascal Flatts, Skakira and Britain’s Got Talent winner Susan Boyle. The judges were introduced one final time; Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and David Hasselhoff. They looked very fancy in their outfits tonight and were just as stumped as most of us as to who the winner may be on this show.
Don’t Leave Me This Way was sung by the top ten finalists and began with an opera tone with Barbara Padilla and the Texas Tenors and then went into a soulful tune with The Voices of Glory. Grandma Lee introduced Thelma Houston next. I loved David Skinner’s version with Thelma, but Drew Stevyns lit a fire in my heart tonight along with Lawrence Beamen, Yummy! When I thought it couldn’t get any better the Fab Five, Recycled Percussion and Hairo Torres kicked it up!
Leona Lewis sang next for America. Three years ago she walked onto the stage of Britain’s Got Talent and her dream took off! She was beautiful tonight in her black gown which sparkled from the back drop of the stage lighting. When she finished singing the whole audience gave her a standing ovation and she was humbled by that.
Next America’s Got Talent brought out the worst of the worst from this season and once again they were hard to watch, except the ending where Grandma Lee and Piers Morgan appeared dressed in wedding gear in the magician’s box.
A Cirque Du Soliel group came out and performed a cabaret performance. I was getting a little bored with all of the filler performances and was hoping that they would just get on with who won!
After the break the top five acts voted by America were announced. They were Barbara Padilla, The Voices of Glory, The Texas Tenors, Kevin Skinner and Recycled Percussion…poor Grandma Lee, Lawrence Beamen and Drew Stevyns! Piers Morgan felt that this was the greatest season ever on America’s Got Talent!
Shakira then came out and sang She Wolf from her newest album. She can sing, but the poor girl cannot dance and I love the She Wolf Parody by the front alley girls on YouTube better than her own video!
The act finishing in fifth place was announced next and it was the Voices of Glory along with the fourth place act of the Texas Tenors. They were congratulated by the judges and David Hasselhoff even asked for a ticket to their first performance.
Next Recycled Percussion and Kevin Skinner were asked to come up front on the stage and Recycled Percussion came in third tonight. They told the kids of America to never give up on their dreams!
The last special guests tonight, Rascal Flatts, came out on stage and sang Summer Nights? H-O-T! They told the winner to hold on tight and don’t dance like Shakira!!!!!! Hahaha…that was funny…watch the YouTube parodys…they are much better!
Susan Boyle from Britain’s Got Talent performed and as usual she took my breath away. The lady is an amazing singer and I still cannot understand how she has been in limbo all of these years?
After the break, the first and second place winners were announced and they were Barbara Padilla and Kevin Skinner! Kevin Skinner has taken the crown in 2009!Â
That is it for another season of America’s Got Talent and as far as I am concerned America had a hard vote tonight! Goodnight!
