Ok, maybe those weren’t his words exactly, but Jon Gosselin from Jon & Kate plus 8 has called off the divorce from his wife Kate Gosselin, at least temporarily. He seems to have grown a heart, either that or was told by his lawyers that if he wants the judge to look favorably upon him that he has to look like he is attempting to make amends.
The divorce, which was supposed to be finalized in November, may be put on hold if Pennsylvania approves the documents that Jon submitted today to extend the proceedings by 90 days. According to his lawyer Jon realizes that he is the cause of Kate’s suffering and feels bad about her breakdown in September, flaunting his relationship and playboy ways, and stating that he despised the mother of his children and his co-star on Jon & Kate plus 8.
“He woke up one morning, looked in the mirror and didn’t like the reflection,” Jon’s attorney, Mark Jay Heller, tells In Touch. “He realized he’d made some bad choices.”
“I regret my conduct since Kate and I separated [on June 22],” Jon tells In Touch exclusively. “I used poor judgment in publicly socializing with other women so soon. This will enable Kate and me to restore our relationship as cooperative parents and to open up our lines of communication. I hope that she will be as receptive and enthusiastic as I am to do what is best for our family. I would like to get back with Kate as a partner in parenting. Even though we were heading for a divorce, it appeared that Kate had been suffering from this divorce as much as I had. That’s why I asked my attorney to put the brakes on this divorce so I could try to regain control over the future of our family. So Kate and I could join on a cooperative course that would benefit our family — not destroy it.”
Of course the Jon & Kate plus 8 dad is still blaming Kate for the demise of their marriage. “When Kate broke up with me, I begged her to go with me to counseling,” he says. “She was totally against it. I think I was reacting to the pain I have been suffering as a result of Kate’s rejection of me.”
Jon may be sincere, but we think the timing is a little suspicious. He is supposed to be happy with another woman, and there has been clear arguments over money. Now he wants to hold off on the divorce and work on some sort of relationship? Kate better watch out because if they are still married on December 31st it could bring up an entirely different tax picture for the couple. After all, it is your status as of the end of the year and Jon could win out if he can be married to Kate through this year. Or could it be that he is vain and with the announcement from TLC that starting in November the show is going to drop “Jon” from it’s title and become Kate plus 8, has gotten to the divorcee to be?
That is just our opinion.
