That is what I was left feeling during most of tonight’s episode of So You Think You Can Dance on FOX, auditions in Atlanta, GA. I was actually pretty excited at the start of the show since I reside in the good old ATL, but I was extremely disappointed.
After tonight I feel embarrassed to say the least for all of us from Atlanta. There was definitely no lack of talentless dancers on tonight’s episode of So You Think You Can Dance on FOX. Honestly, the most interesting part of the entire hour was listening to Nigel lose his cool with some of the dancers. He told one dancer her performance was “crap”, well not in those exact words, he was a little more vulgar than I.
The strange dancers were certainly out in Atlanta tonight as well. We saw everything from a pickup artist to one performer with a scary death stare. Jonathan, gave us quite a performance AFTER his audition where he went from almost hyperventilating to hysterical crying. Get a grip dude! Ultimately, no matter how much he pleaded, he got a big fat no from the judges and rightfully so.
We did have a few hidden talents though, on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX tonight. First, we met Jessica who lost one of her hands to cancer. That did not stop her however, she danced gracefully but was sent to choreography where she unfortunately did not make the cut.
Returning from a previous season on So You Think You Can Dance, we saw Anthony and Antoine. They impressed the judges and were sent to choreography as well. After an hour, Anthony got sent through to Vegas, but Antoine did not. I am sure he will support his brother, and I doubt that is the last we’ll see of Antoine.
Last but not least and what I think is Atlanta’s hidden gem, we met Thomas. Thomas was born a crack baby in a poor neighborhood, and adopted at birth by his Aunt. He told us how determined he is to get out the neighborhood and away from all the drugs, etc that surround him there. He is going to get the chance because his dancing was incredible and the judges loved him. I can’t wait to see more of him and his moves.
