Dancing With The Stars: Getting Skinny

September 30, 2009 09:00 AM by Christine McDow

By the time the Dancing with the Stars dancers show up on your TV they are looking slim and very skinny.  Even the  stars who may seem a bit out of shape prior to the season premiere, trim up quickly once the dancing begins.  How do they do it?

According to Life & Style and at the Dancing with the Stars stage it is a a diet of dancing and protein that helps them get and stay so thin.  How do your favorite dancers and stars shed the pounds?

Karina Smirnoff focuses on lots of fruits and veggies.  “Listen to your body,” she says. “There are foods that your system will digest easily and others it will struggle with. Of course, fruits and veggies are always good.”

Kelly Osbourne claims that she is in the best shape in her life. “I do five hours of rehearsals a day – sometimes even six.  My body is completely changing; I’m getting really small in places where I’ve never been that small before!”  According to her friend, “Kelly has cut out late-night snacking,” an insider tells Life & Style.

Mya lost 11 pounds in the first week and is toning up. “My body has gotten more toned.  I’m seeing a lot more definition, especially in my arms.”

Debi Mazar has lost weight as well, and notices it in her bra! “My bra bulge is gone!” The 5-foot-5 actress and cooking-show co-host  said.  She keeps her energy up with homemade lunches of pasta, fruit and even chocolate, plus “tons of water.”
