Amazing Race 15: What Happened To Our Pit Stop?
October 04, 2009 09:02 PM by Britteny Elrick

Tonight on The Amazing Race, the remaining teams will make their way through Vietnam, which brings about some emotional memories for a few of the contestants. Big Easy and Flight Time catch some good breaks, putting them in the lead for most of the race, whereas Lance and Kari can’t seem to get ahead. Alot of that would change if they could just understand the clues.
While resting at their pit stop, located on the local riverboat the Bassac III, the teams realize that they are leaving Cai Be to My Tho. They have no idea where the boat is taking them. When they dock, Gary & Matt are the first to depart and are instructed to travel to Ho Chi Minh City and search for the Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theater.

On their way to the theater, both Marcy and Big Easy start thinking about their dads. Big Easy lost his father a mere two days before the start of the race, whereas being in Vietnam reminded Marcy of her father, who’s plane was shot down in the war. With Gary & Matt being stuck in traffic, Harlem Globetrotters Flight Time & Big Easy reach the theater first. The teams find that they must lean over a giant pool, while trying to retrieve the “tongue” of dancing dragon puppets. When they grab the tongue from the dragon, they discover a postage stamp, which leads them to their next destination: Ho Chi Minh City Main Post Office. All of the teams seemed to grasp this except for Lance and Keri.

After arriving at the post office the teams are presented with a detour. In word play, they must go to a hotel and locate the observation deck. Then, looking out at the crowd, they must identify six Vietnamese letters moving within the traffic. Then they must enlist the help of the locals to unscramble the letters to spell DOCLAP, the well-known Vietnamese word for independence. In child’s play, teams must travel to a local park and chose a concrete animal from a kiosk. Then they must carry the heavy animal through the park, picking up five different-colored balloons and deliver them to the playground. Most of the teams opt for child’s play.
Next, the teams must proceed to Dien Co 008, and locate their next clue in the middle of a busy intersection. Big Easy and Flight Time are currently in first place, meanwhile Tiffany and Maria are struggling big time getting their animal through the park. Next they encounter a road block, where one team member must take apart a VCR and then have a local worker re-assemble it to receive their next clue. Marcy and Ron are the last couple to arrive at the road block, but Ron makes up for time by completing the task in a ridiculously fast amount of time.

Big Easy and Flight Time are still holding in first place and are the first to get their clue to the pit stop, Reunification Palace.  However, they are having a hard time finding a taxi driver who has a clue where it is located. In the end, it came down to a foot race between Meghan and Cheyne and Big Easy and Flight time, who made it to the pit stop simultaneously.
Gary and Matt end up coming in second place, followed by Brian and Ericka, Sam and Dan, Maria and Tiffany, Mika and Canaan. Zev and Justin and Lance and Keri make it to the pit stop together and take 8th and 9th place, which means Marcy and Ron are eliminated.
