Michael Vick To Star In Reality Show

October 08, 2009 01:00 PM by Britteny Elrick

Notorious Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Michael Vick, has scored his own reality show. I mean, what more could we want then to watch the daily life of a NFL player-turned-dog-abuser who has been recently released from prison?   The Michael Vick Project will air on BET next year and will chronicle Michael’s troubled life.  Troubled is a rather generous term.

According to the New York Daily News, the documentary style series has already been denounced by PETA. That’s a shocker. General opinion about the series has been mixed.  Jen Wielgus of Phillyburbs.com wasn’t surprised. “You had to know something like this was coming,” she said. “Vick’s story is TV gold,” and “I won’t be shocked when they make a movie about him.”

She went on to say that she is bothered by the fact that this series will try to humanize someone who people view as inhumane, and she doesn’t feel he deserves that. I have to say I agree with that statement in the fact that I hope the show isn’t one big PR stunt to change public opinion of him.

How do you feel?  Would you watch this?  I suppose it’s sort of like a bad car wreck… maybe, just maybe, I’ll tune in.
