So the road to the top 20 dancers comes to a close tonight on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX. Last week in Vegas we saw many early favorites get sent home after the hip hop and ballroom rounds. Will the remaining favorites suffer the same fate, or will some of our early top 20 predictions stick around for yet another round?
As we started the night with 77 dancers left on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX, that number steadily declined as they were put through the contemporary, jazz, and broadway rounds. Unfortunately, we did see some of our early favorites get cut tonight. Among them were Iveta, the ballroom dancer; Williem, the same sex dancer whose partner was sent home last week; and Matthew, half of the very first husband and wife team ever to get through to Vegas.
Matthew’s wife however, was one of the lucky ones tonight on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX to make it through to another round. In fact, more of the favorites made it through tonight than not. In that group we saw Legacy, who has greatly stepped up his game, along with Ashley who has done the same. Ashley’s husband Ryan has also made it through after a very “bare” performance.
We also witnessed some sweating on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX. More than the normal sweating I am talking about here. The judges had Russell sweating bullets when they asked him what type of training he has had, only to tell him he was great and send him through another round. They also had Molly sweating as Nigel commented that she needed to dance less like a girl and more like a woman. In the end, she was sent through as well.
And since we are out of weird dancers as most of those have been eliminated already on So You Think You Can Dance, we need to replace it with something, so why not injuries? Molly, sprained her ankle during one of the first routines, and after a quick hospital trip she came back to perform with her group. Again, she was sent through. Paulene also fell and landed on her ankle. After her hospital visit, she was told it was sprained as well and told to keep off it for a few days. We will have to wait until next week to hear the judges comments on her status.
After a grueling two days on So You Think You Can Dance , 38 dancers were left. They were each asked to dance a solo one last time, and some of the judges were in tears. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until next week to see who is chosen to be in the top 20, and who is sent home.
