Jon Gosselin received some bad news today: he’s being sued by the network that produced his reality TV show, Jon & Kate Plus 8. TLC is reportedly suing Jon for breaching his contract and not upholding the criteria of his contract with the company. But now that he has to give back almost $200,000 to Kate, where is he going to find the money? Keep reading for full details…
The Associated Press reported today that TLC has filed a lawsuit with the Maryland Circuit Court of Montgomery County claiming that Jon has taken payment for appearing on other shows and has offered information about the show that he was supposed to keep under wraps.
According to the lawsuit, Jon was supposed to refrain from talking to the public for 45 days. The lawsuit states that due to “the Gosselins’ difficult personal circumstances, TLC asked both parents to refrain from making public statements about each other, the divorce, or the program, and negotiated an agreed ‘cooling off’ period with respect to media communications.”
So does that mean all those appearances on Entertainment Tonight and The Insider weren’t okay? Um, yes.
Jon also got in trouble for refusing to film his show for six days in September. There is no word yet on how much Jon owes, but TLC is trying to recover any income he gained as a result of show appearances and compensatory damages. Yikes. TLC claims that they have been trying to deal privately with Jon for months on these issues, to which they have not succeeded.
