Jon Gosselin‘s attorney is firing back at TLC after they filed a lawsuit against Jon for breach of contract. Mark Heller released a statement last Friday in defense of Jon, who is being sued for compensatory damages and income earned from TV appearances. Now his attorney is saying that TLC has taken advantage of the Gosselins, and neither he nor Jon were served with any of the legal pleadings of the litigation. Keep reading to hear what he had to say… and oh boy, it’s good!
“Apparently, TLC has elected to initially litigate this case in the Court of Public Opinion, rather than the Circuit Court for Montgomery County Maryland because neither Jon nor I have been served with legal pleadings or informed by TLC of the instant litigation,” Heller said.
Oh, here’s where it gets really good. “Remarkably, instead, I read the alleged Complaint on the Internet, since it would appear that Discovery and TLC chose to pander and publicize their weak, feeble and baseless claim to the media rather than providing the Defendant with appropriate notice through the traditional judicial process,” he continued.
He goes on to say that it is evident that “TLC has exploited and manipulated the Gosselin’s vulnerability and financial hardship,” and at the time Jon entered into the complex agreement he had no legal representation.
“In any event, when TLC and Discovery ended the program Jon & Kate Plus 8 they also effectively terminated the purported contract and accordingly, any rights or obligations they perceived existed concerning Jon’s conduct or actions, rights or privileges from that point forward were also terminated.”
Oh… snap! Does this mean good ‘ole Jon is off the hook?
