Oxygen network has announced that it will be bringing back Dance Your Ass Off for a second season in 2010. The show pairs overweight individuals with a professional dance partner who whips them into shape by learning a new dance routine each week. The debut season of Dance Your Ass Off made network history as the most watched, averaging one million viewers.
“Dance Your Ass Off is a vibrant and infectious show, but it also changes people’s lives,” said executive producer Dan Cutforth. “The format is an amazing platform for compelling stories and great entertainment, and we’re excited to become a part of it.” The network is currently casting for the second season and more information can be found on Oxygen.com.
“On the show, we learned choreography, a routine. Now I can go social dancing. I can do the fox trot, I can do the salsa, I can do a swing dance with a complete stranger,†last year’s winner, Ruben Permel, told PEOPLE. “It’s kind of cliché to say, ‘Oh [the show] changed my life,’ but actually it did.â€
