So You Think You Can Dance: Top 16 Perform

After losing 2 of our 3 tap dancers last week on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX, the 8 remaining couples performed tonight. In the past few weeks we have seen the stage smoking, but now that it’s up to America to decide who stays, would they try even harder to keep the fire alive this week? And which couples would struggle with their routines this week? Find out the answers and more as we learn a few little secrets about some of our dancers.
While the top 16 dancers performed tonight on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX, we also learned a few tidbits that we didn’t know about some of our favorite dancers. We learned that Legacy was about to become a professional soccer player, and Kathryn loves to volunteer and do mission work. We also learned that Mollee is deaf in her left ear, and Russell is an artist as well as a dancer. They were all not happy tales however, as we did learn a sadder tidbit from Karen, whom if you recall had originally auditioned with her husband, but her husband did not make it through. Well Karen informed us tonight that after going through some marital troubles, they divorced. Wow, she sure doesn’t show it in her dancing, that girl is on fire week after week and has been predicted to get very far!
A few of our So You Think You Can Dance couples were on fire once again. Karen and Kevin danced a Hustle routine tonight, and surprisingly, not only did Karen blow us away, but Kevin did as well. Ashleigh and Jacob also rocked the house with a propped routine, as well as Noelle and Russell, who performed an AfroJazz routine. Despite it being unrecognized by most, they light us on fire with it, even the judges were amazed by Noelle and Russell’s performance. Who knew AfroJazz even existed?!?!?!
Then we had some pretty good performances with a few weaknesses as well on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX tonight. In that group fell Legacy and Kathryn with their broadway number, although it was more Kathryn who was disappointing than Legacy, who performed perfectly. We also watched Peter and Pauline do a quickstep. While we waited for them to turn it into a train wreck, they shocked us. It was good, but not great. Channing and Victor were also good, considering they were a new couple this week after losing their partners last week. They however drew a contemporary number which is each of their special style, so we expected them to really blow us away and they didn’t. Their chemistry was great for a new couple, I can’t wait to see more of them.
At the bottom of the performances tonight, and both couples predicted to be in danger tomorrow by all 3 judges, were Ryan and Ellenore as well as Nathan and Mollee!?!?! Nathan and Mollee did not perform their Salsa well at all, it just looked awkward. However, being that they are a fan favorite, America may be able to save them. I am not so sure that Ellenore and Ryan can be saved though, who performed a hip hop routine which was totally out of their element and it just looked silly and clumsy. However, you never know what tomorrow will bring as it’s completely up to America now, so make sure to call and vote for your favorite!
