So You Think You Can Dance: Top 14 Perform

Tonight on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX, the top 7 couples take the stage. In lieu of the fact that the finals are a month away, all of our dancers need to step it up a notch and really shine. How do you think your favorites did tonight? You may be surprised to learn some of the couples facing elimination tomorrow after their performances tonight. Keep reading to find out who smoked the stage and who got burned tonight after the top 14 performances.
As we inch closer and closer to the top 10 on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX our couples are getting better and better. We got to see some childhood photographs of all the contestants tonight as well as hear some childhood tales. And while it was interesting to learn more about our top 14, the best part of the stroll down memory lane were the childhood photos of our beloved judges – now that was fun!! Okay okay, back to business here and what you really want to know, here is how your favorites fared tonight after the top 14 performances.
Couples on the smoking hot list:
Ashleigh and Jakob performed a hip hop number by Tabitha and Napoleon on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX and they hit it out of the park. Both Nigel and Adam commented once again on how much Ashleigh improves each week and that they will both be in the top 10. I have to agree with them, Ashleigh and Jakob are consistently great and have chemistry off the charts.
Russell and Noelle also made the list tonight after performing the foxtrot, yes you read that right, the foxtrot again. Ah, but last time we saw this performance Noelle did not perform with Russell as she had an injury, so they got a second chance to perform it. Russell who seemed to struggle with it last time, wound up dancing it like an expert tonight, as did Noelle. I am more and more impressed by these two each week.
Kathryn and Legacy lit up the stage tonight on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX with a pasodoble routine by Tony Meredith. While Legacy has been consistently great, it was Kathryn who really shined tonight and she showed so much more maturity than in past weeks. They left me wanting more and if this couple continues to perform this well they should absolutely make it to the top 10, which both Nigel and Adam also predicted after tonight.
One of the two big shockers of the evening following their disastrous performance last week, Ryan and Ellenore were one of the best, if not the best performance of the night after they performed a contemporary number about past loves meeting up again. Once again, another couple who has been predicted in the top 10 by the judges.
Couples on the warm list:
Mollee and Nathan are the only couple on the warm list tonight on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX as they performed a pop jazz routine which was much stronger than last week, but did not blow us away. The judges were a little harder on Nathan than Mollee and well deserved as she did perform better than he did tonight.
Couples in danger of elimination:
As much as I hate to say this as they are one of my personal favorite couples on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX and the second shocker of the evening, Karen and Kevin are in danger tonight after performing a broadway routine. The routine was supposed to be cute and humorous, however the only humorous part was watching them dance it.
Channing and Victor performed a piece by Tice that was awkward to me as they were dressed as birds and even had a birdcage prop on the stage. With that said, Channing looked like she was having fun out there and for the first time all season she seemed very relaxed, maybe the change of partner did the trick? Victor, on the other hand while the performance was good, it did not stand out. He needs to turn it up a notch if he wants to stay in this competition. While they were not horrible, I feel they may be in danger simply because everyone else was so amazing tonight.
All 3 of the judges agreed that Karen and Kevin are in the most danger after the performances tonight.
