The body of A.J. Jewell, Kandi Burruss’ ex-fiance, is going to be exhumed for a second autopsy according to a report by CNN. This news comes after A.J.’s family protested the results of the first autopsy. So what’s all the controversy about? Keep reading for more details…

A.J. died last October after a fight outside of an Atlanta strip club with Frederick Richardson. Richardson was arrested for voluntary manslaughter after the medical examiner concluded that A.J. died of blunt forced trauma to the head. However, examiners later concluded that A.J. also suffered of sickle cell disease, which was a contributing factor to his death.

A.J.’s dad released the following statement: “I want the public to know my son did not have sickle cell disease. I hope this next autopsy will prove that my son was murdered.”  One of the reps for the Jewell family told CNN that the investigation might have been held up because of his relationship with Kandi. “It’s almost as if A.J. and his family were being penalized because of his high-profile nature and because of his celebrity lifestyle,” Markel Hutchins said. “There were other things that led up to A.J.’s death, and there are other things that we believe were criminal, that happened after A.J.’s death,” Hutchins added.
