Kris Allen’s highly anticipated (or so we thought) self-titled debut album turned out to sell the fewest records in American Idol history. According to the Nielsen Soundscan reports, the cd only sold 80,000 copies.
Allen signed on with Jive Records, which only one other IdolÂ – Jordin Sparks – has done thus far. It looks like there might be a trend among those who sign with Jive, considering Jordin had the next lowest debut sales with only 119,000. Fantasia Barrino didn’t trail far behind with only sold 240,000 copies sold.
Wednesday, Kris appeared on Ellen to sing his first single off the record, Live Like We’re Dying:
