Noelle Marsh and Nathan Trasoras were our first contestants eliminated out of the top 10 on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX on Wednesday evening. Keep reading to find out what Noelle and Nathan had to say about their experiences on the show and their plans for the future as well other various topics.
First up for the interview was Nathan, here is what he shared with us:
Question: How did you get into dance and was your brother Mikey an influence?
Nathan Trasoras: He was completely an influence on me. It was nice to have a family member doing the same thing, especially to look up to my brother like that. I started taking one or two classes a week until I was dancing everyday.
Question: What was working with Mollee like?
Nathan Trasoras: She was very bubbly and energetic. It’s nice to have that energy around when you are learning a new style. You can’t always be serious, so it is nice to have someone like her remind you of that.
Question: Nigel was very tough on you, do you think he should have lightened up?
Nathan Trasoras: I understood where he was coming from. When he gave criticism, I would correct it immediately. Some of the things I said were wrong, his criticism was tough love and it has helped me to grow.
Question: You seem to be interested in broadway, is that your next step?
Nathan Trasoras: I like to keep my doors open. If there is a job doing broadway for me, I would love to take it. It’s always nice to entertain people and not have to be so serious.
Question: Do you think your partnership with Kathryn brought out your maturity?
Nathan Trasoras: Kathryn and I have very similar personalities so it was easier to connect with her. It’s nice to be able to bond so quickly since we have such a short amount of time to do it.
Question: Since you have been criticized for being immature in your performances, do you have any advice for Mollee when she encounters the same?
Nathan Trasoras: My advice would be to take the corrections, but don’t let it bring you down. Keep your chin up and keep working hard.
Question: Were you surprised that you were in the bottom two?
Nathan Trasoras: No I was not the smoothest performer during the competition, so I think I deserved to be there. I thought the first week when I got saved I should have been there as I knew I could have done better.
Question: What are you future plans, will you stay in LA or move to NY?
Nathan Trasoras: I plan on staying in LA, all my friends are here, the weather is great and I know alot of choreographers here.
Next up, it was Noelle’s turn and here is what she had to share with us:
Question: How did you Mollee click so well?
Noelle Marsh: Mollee and I met in Vegas an clicked instantly. We were both bubbly and energetic and we were roommates which made it even easier. During green mile, I flew out and stayed with her for a while.
Question: How did you get into dance since you were a small town girl?
Noelle Marsh: That was the hardest part growing up, traveling at least 2 hours per day to my lessons.
Question: Do you really cliff dive?
Noelle Marsh: Yes, I do cliff dive. There’s a rock quarry near my house, I go there everyday during the summer and jump off 60 or 100 foot cliffs.
Question: Were you nervous when you realized you would be paired up with Russell?
Noelle Marsh: I was really excited to get someone completely opposite of me. It’s nice to have someone experienced in other dances. We were the perfect match, we could help each other in so many ways.
Question: Your so bubbly, yet the judges never thought your personality shown through in your performances, can you elaborate for us?
Noelle Marsh: I always tried to do the best I could. I was never nervous going out there, more anxious and excited. Maybe being with a star partner in Russell was a setback for me since he is such an amazing dancer, but I was thrilled to be paired with him.
Question: Do you think being partnered with Ryan brought out a different side of you?
Noelle Marsh: Definitely. Each time you are partnered with someone new, a new side of you comes out.
Question: What did you think of the Afro-Jazz routine you pulled?
Noelle Marsh: It was so much fun with Russell, we clicked instanly in that routine and had such a great time.
Question: With all the praise you were given by the judges, were you surprised to be in the bottom two?
Noelle Marsh: I was upset, but I know that everything happens for a reason. It’s all about America’s favorite dancer and I was excited to make it to the top 10.
Question: What were your thoughts early on with your injury?
Noelle Marsh: It was the lowest point in my journey because at that moment I was almost taken out of the competition. It just pushed me that much harder to come back and prove why I belonged in the top 20.
Best of luck to both Noelle and Nathan, hopefully we will see you again soon!
