Tonight on our 2 hour finale of The Sing Off on NBC the votes are in and America has chosen a winner. We have a jam packed time with special guest performances such as Natasha Bedingfield, Boyz ll Men, Bobby Mcferrin and Smokey Robinson. So who will win the $100k and Sony recording contract? Keep reading to find out!
As we head into the finale of The Sing Off on NBC, our three a cappella groups remaining are Voices of Lee, Nota and The Beezlebubs. The three groups started off the evening by singing together their a cappella version of I still haven’t found what I’m looking for by U2.
Next we head out for a glimpse of how our groups have given back to the community and then follow with a song of hope by each group tonight on The Sing Off. Voices of Lee were up first and sang Stand by me, followed by The Beezlebubs who sang Where’s the love by The Black Eyed Peas. Last song of hope was Lean on me performed by Nota.
We had quite a few guest performances tonight on The Sing Off on NBC starting with Natasha Bedingfield who performed Pocket full of sunshine along side Voices of Lee. Smokey Robinson also graced us as he performed Tracks of my tears with some help from Nota. Bobby McFerrin also joined us and sang a neat little number with all of our groups.
After a brief commercial break, Nick Lachey was back with the envelope in hand. While he did not announce the winner just yet, he did inform us that both Nota and the Beezlebubs were the top two groups after America voted, leaving Voices of Lee to sing their swan song. They sang So long farewell and then gave their thanks and left the stage. Now we were left with two.
Nota and The Beezlebubs were back on The Sing Off stage ready to perform. This time they would be singing Why can’t we be friends with Ben Folds on the piano. These two groups both deserved to win and proved that with their voices during this performance.
After a beautiful a cappella medley by Boyz ll Men, Nick Lachey was back once again. This time he had the winning name in his envelope. As both groups stood there waiting for what seemed like hours even though it was only a few seconds, Nick excitedly announced that The Sing Off Winner as voted by America was Nota!
