Tonight on a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC the teams gear up for their second challenge and weigh in. Will an injury hurt one team’s chances of staying in the house? And just what does the doctor have to tell our teams? After a history making weight loss last time, would anyone make history again this week and with James’ departure last week, would John pull through this week or would he end up as the next loser sent home? You can view last week’s results here, but you’ll have to keep reading to find out the answers to these questions and get the exciting results this week!
As we head into the 2nd week on The Biggest Loser on NBC the teams are visited this week by a doctor who tries to motivate them with a little chat, and then hands them each an envelope with a medical task for each team. Each task was set up to show the teams just how unhealthy they really are. Some of the tasks included: Bob adding 303 lbs in weights to his body so Michael could watch his struggle from the outside as well as Jillian having to eat a meal in which one team consume regularly, which she wound up spitting out…..Jillian gets an A for effort though, but I don’t blame her for not wanting to eat that fatty fast food. Hopefully she has showed this team that cooking a healthy meal at home is much easier and healthier for them!
The challenge this week on The Biggest Loser on NBC revolves around balance as the teams are instructed to walk across a 40 foot balance beam set above a pool while carrying a beach ball. The first team to get 10 balls across would win immunity for the weigh in while the losing team would get a 2 lb penalty at the weigh in. If they were to fall off, they would have to start that one over again. Sounds easy enough, right?
Apparently balance is not an easy task for these teams as most of the teams struggled to get across, falling one by one into the pool and having to start over. It came down to the red team and black team in the lead and just as the black team thought they had it, Andrea lost her balance and ended up in the pool leaving the victory to Lance & Melissa of the red team. One by one the teams finished up, until it was down to two teams to finish up one of which being the white team as Maria was petrified to go across the beam.
Just as Maria of the white team on The Biggest Loser on NBC finally decided she could and would walk across the beam, she slipped and landed face first on the cement. With blood everywhere, the medics came and took her to the hospital, and Michael decided to go with her. Maria suffered a bloody nose, black eye and fractured finger and they also lost the challenge and would have to take the 2lb penalty at weigh in time. Luckily Jillian and Bob were able to talk some sense and light a fire back into Maria and Michael, but we’ll have to see how well it worked once they weigh in.
On the second half of The Biggest Loser on NBC the doctor is back to sit down with each individual team to discuss their health issues. He is determined to get these people to see how serious their health issues are. He shows Michael how much fat he has versus muscle which shocks Michael. Cheryl gets a shocker as he shows her that her inner age is really 75 and she is only 51, although the doctor contributes half of that to her smoking. Ashley also gets shocked by this when she is told her inner age is 57 and her real age is 27 and vows to completely change her ways to reverse the damage.
Next the teams get a last chance work out before their week 2 weigh in. Jillian and Bob push the contestants to their limits as they know week 2 is a hard week based on previous experiences. John vows that he will not go home and work extra hard because he is the entire brown team now and wants to make everyone proud. The red team takes it a little easier since they know they are immune to going home this week and Melissa is hoping a smaller loss this week will give her a bigger loss next week. We shall see about that one next week huh?

During the weigh in, when asked if Bob believed that Melissa was not trying to have a small loss or a gain, he got a little irate asking that she please tell the truth that she knows the game and played the game well. The purple team is now up for elimination and both Stephanie and Patti begged the contestants to please send Patti home and allow Stephanie to stay as she would not be able to do this at home while Patti could succeed at home.
All the contestants were unanimous in their decision to respect Patti’s wishes and send her home, allowing Stephanie to stay aboard and continue her journey. To date Patti has lost 43 lbs thus far and she is still going, keeping up her workouts. After a quick check in from the doctor, Patti’s stats have improved greatly since being on the show.
Best of luck Patti, continuing your journey!
