Supernanny: Hallenbeck Family

January 15, 2010 07:39 PM by Lisa Princ

Our favorite Supernanny Jo Frost is back on ABC tonight. In this new episode, Jo travels to Mesa, AZ to help a grandmother and grandfather with their 2 out of control grandsons. But their biggest problem is not the boys, it’s their daughter! What surprise twist of events will make Jo wonder why she even went out there? Keep reading for all the details!

Upon arriving in Mesa, Supernanny Jo Frost meets the Hallenbeck family which consists of grandmother Pat, grandfather Cliff, their two grandsons (ages 4 and 6) and their daughter, Kristin age 25. It’s clear immediately that Kristin is not raising her boys, her mother is raising them. Kristin goes to work while Pat stays home with the boys, but when Kristine returns home from work Pat is still taking care of the boys. Clearly she needs to grow up and take some responsibility for her children.

Supernanny cannot believe her eyes with these boys either. They hit, punch, and blast mom, grandma and grandpa with horrible names while using foul language as well. When Jo sits down with the three adults she can sense the anger and tension. Both Pat and Kristin admit that they do not get along well, stemming from the boys, their discipline and that Pat feels she needs to control them because their mother doesn’t.

As Jo attempts teaching everyone her discipline routine, it seems to go over well…at first. Kristin does a good job with them the very first day since Supernanny had sent Pat & Cliff out for the day so she could get a taste of what Pat deals with all day. But it doesn’t take Jo long to learn that these children definitely get their behavior issues from their mother who has no respect for her own parents, nor is she even thankful for all they do for her.  Sounds like this gal needs a reality check!

At this point Jo is furious with Kristin and does not hold back on letting her know that. For her next attempt at helping Kristin realize how good she has it, Supernanny takes her to a homeless shelter to see many single women live there with their children because they don’t have parents to support them. Kristin shows no respect there either, as she flat out tells Jo “I don’t care” and while the director is speaking to them, Kristin pulls out her cell phone and is texting away on it. It doesn’t stop there either as Jo realizes when she sits them all down to work out a schedule. Kristin lets everyone know that she would much rather sleep in than wake up and take care of her boys.

About to give up after she saw how poorly they handled things while she was away for 3 days, Supernanny decided to sit down with all three of them one more time. Pat and Cliff expressed their hurt and anger over everything, and Kristin decided to throw a shocker in there for them: she was moving out, to another state. Pat and Cliff were shocked and hurt even more by this, and Jo tries to calm everyone down, but they are afraid they will never see their grandkids again as Kristin has threatened them with this in the past.

On her last attempt and knowing there was no point of going on with her discipline techniques, Jo decided to try and save Pat and Kristin’s relationship instead. She sat them both down, back to back and they discussed their thoughts and fears. Both agreed that upon moving out, they would set up video chatting so Pat & Cliff could see their grandsons since they would be so far away. Jo feels safe to leave now knowing that she did all she could for this family, we can only hope that Kristin keeps her word to Jo and her parents.

Be sure to tune in next Friday at 8 pm EST for another episode of Supernanny on ABC.

My heart and prayers go out to the grandparents, Pat & cliff, and I am flat out discusted by Kristin. I cannot go in to much more detail regarding my feelings for Kristin as I lack the vocabulary and space to express the extent of my disgust without using profane language.
I honestly pray that these children are somehow reunited with the grandparents so they have a fighting chance in life. Their mother will only neglect them and set them up for failure.
My hope is that the boyfriend in Colorado will quickly identify how lazy, immature, and negligent Kristin is and dumps her ass in short order. Then maybe Krisin will be forced relocate back to her parents house where the children will at least have consistent care, love, and are a priority.

I would be very interested in seeing Jo do a followup on this family, especially to see if Kristin actually starts acting like a grownup. Based on the end of this show, if I were social services, I would give the custody of the 2 boys to the grandparents. Kristin does not seem emotionally mature enough to take care of anybody.

Kristin is the laziest woman I have ever seen in my whole life I live in Arizona and if i ever see her about in public i would love to smack reality into her. She opened her legs to have those children not her parents.

What a disgusting person. This “girl” should be embarrassed…can’t even call her a real woman. Her parents should of put her out AGES ago. All of a sudden she wants to move??? It wouldn’t be a surprise if her lame attempt to move in with her boyfriend (just another person to mooch off of….) didn’t work. So much for taking responsibility. Saddest person I think I’ve ever seen on a television show in my life. Those poor boys. Why did she even have kids to begin with? This is the reason you should practice safe sex. Sorry, but it’s totally true.

In England watching this episode for the first time. I truly find Kristin a vial person, lazy with a complete lack of regard for anyone other than herself. I really hope that her moving to another state has helped her to grow up for the benefit of her sons.

I have to say i have seen this twice and its more upsetting each time.i was very upset for the gr.parents.i do have to say something went wrong on the parenting spoiling lack of being grounded as a person and to be very blessed and do good with what your given.she is quite grown and even if she was spoiled as a kid. Her empathy was deplorable.kristin seemed like she was living with her brothers and that wasnt even a sibling love even.i truly hope life smacks her in the face and possitives
