Our favorite Supernanny Jo Frost is back on ABC tonight. In this new episode, Jo travels to Mesa, AZ to help a grandmother and grandfather with their 2 out of control grandsons. But their biggest problem is not the boys, it’s their daughter! What surprise twist of events will make Jo wonder why she even went out there? Keep reading for all the details!
Upon arriving in Mesa, Supernanny Jo Frost meets the Hallenbeck family which consists of grandmother Pat, grandfather Cliff, their two grandsons (ages 4 and 6) and their daughter, Kristin age 25. It’s clear immediately that Kristin is not raising her boys, her mother is raising them. Kristin goes to work while Pat stays home with the boys, but when Kristine returns home from work Pat is still taking care of the boys. Clearly she needs to grow up and take some responsibility for her children.
Supernanny cannot believe her eyes with these boys either. They hit, punch, and blast mom, grandma and grandpa with horrible names while using foul language as well. When Jo sits down with the three adults she can sense the anger and tension. Both Pat and Kristin admit that they do not get along well, stemming from the boys, their discipline and that Pat feels she needs to control them because their mother doesn’t.
As Jo attempts teaching everyone her discipline routine, it seems to go over well…at first. Kristin does a good job with them the very first day since Supernanny had sent Pat & Cliff out for the day so she could get a taste of what Pat deals with all day. But it doesn’t take Jo long to learn that these children definitely get their behavior issues from their mother who has no respect for her own parents, nor is she even thankful for all they do for her. Sounds like this gal needs a reality check!
At this point Jo is furious with Kristin and does not hold back on letting her know that. For her next attempt at helping Kristin realize how good she has it, Supernanny takes her to a homeless shelter to see many single women live there with their children because they don’t have parents to support them. Kristin shows no respect there either, as she flat out tells Jo “I don’t care” and while the director is speaking to them, Kristin pulls out her cell phone and is texting away on it. It doesn’t stop there either as Jo realizes when she sits them all down to work out a schedule. Kristin lets everyone know that she would much rather sleep in than wake up and take care of her boys.
About to give up after she saw how poorly they handled things while she was away for 3 days, Supernanny decided to sit down with all three of them one more time. Pat and Cliff expressed their hurt and anger over everything, and Kristin decided to throw a shocker in there for them: she was moving out, to another state. Pat and Cliff were shocked and hurt even more by this, and Jo tries to calm everyone down, but they are afraid they will never see their grandkids again as Kristin has threatened them with this in the past.
On her last attempt and knowing there was no point of going on with her discipline techniques, Jo decided to try and save Pat and Kristin’s relationship instead. She sat them both down, back to back and they discussed their thoughts and fears. Both agreed that upon moving out, they would set up video chatting so Pat & Cliff could see their grandsons since they would be so far away. Jo feels safe to leave now knowing that she did all she could for this family, we can only hope that Kristin keeps her word to Jo and her parents.
